Welcome to Build a Better Boulevard:
a project to imagine the future of Wilkinson Boulevard.

Together with local stakeholders and professional consultants, the municipalities of Belmont, Cramerton, and McAdenville are working to improve the quality of an important corridor that links the communities of eastern Gaston County and the greater Charlotte region.  In studying the Past and evaluating the Present, we can create an informed and exciting vision of the Future role of Wilkinson Boulevard, one that continues to serve current and projected traffic needs while also encouraging new opportunities for residents and travelers.

Missed the Opening Presentation on Monday, August 25, or missed a detail that one of the speakers gave during their presentation?  Below you can flip through the slides of the Introduction given by Demetri Baches (AICP, ULI, CNU-A) of Metrocology, as well as the Lecture given by Rick Hall (P.E. FITE, CNU-A) of Hall Planning & Engineering.

Thanks to all who came out for the inaugural Two Rivers Ride, which took place on Sunday, August 24 from 5:00-7:00pm!

The ride brought nearly 30 bicyclists through the streets of Belmont and Cramerton, led by local cycling-supporters Bill Toole and Steve Pepitone and joined by members of the Build a Better Boulevard team as well as community members of a variety of ages and abilities.  We want to thank everyone for participating, and we encourage you to follow the Facebook page of South Main Cycles for updates on the upcoming rides scheduled for Sunday, September 21 and Sunday, October 26.

As Cramerton Mayor and Two Rivers Ride participant Ronnie Worley says, "Let's ride!"
